CINEA Innovation Fund
Description
The Innovation Fund focuses on highly innovative technologies and big flagship projects with European value added that can bring on significant emission reductions. The aim is to share the risk with project promoters to help with the demonstration of first-of-a-kind highly innovative projects.
Scoring Criteria
The Innovation Fund scoring is based on 5 criteria:- What is the greenhouse gas emission avoidance of your proejct - does it outcompete the benchmarks in your category?
- Is your technology truely innovative; does it contribute to the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan)?
- Is the project sufficiently mature - will you reach financial close within 4 years?
- Is the project scalable - will it contribute on local, regional, and economy-wide levels?
- Is the project cost efficient - does it meet the minimum cost per ton of CO2eq avoided?

Acting as a central point, we manage the consortium application and develop workplan structures based on the complemetary skills of each member and the specific needs of the funding call to ensure that all deliverables are met.
Proposal writing
The Innovation fund is a highly demanding call. The main proposal relies on in depth supporting documents including a detailed feasiblity study, business plan, and implementation plan. We can gather inputs needed from constorium members to complie these documents and write a winning proposal.
Quality review
The Innovation Fund rests heavily on GHG emission avoidance figures and accurate accouning of the relevant costs. These can be dificult to navigate and have caught out many leading projects in the past. We can help you to scrutise these numbers and make sure that your methodology is in line with the call instructions.
